Prayer before bible study4/4/2023 Reveal yourself to me in deeper ways, and allow me to experience your power, glory, splendor and abundance. Prayer: Lord, just like Moses, I boldly ask that you will show me your glory. God desires to meet with each of us in the same way, and we can experience the glory of his goodness when we pray this prayer! Moses asked God to reveal all of the goodness of his omnipotent power and splendor-how awesome that must have been! The Hebrew word for glory in this passage means glory, honor, glorious, abundance, riches, splendor, dignity, reputation, and reverence (source). What would happen if we were bold enough to pray this prayer? How would our hearts and lives be transformed if we daily saw God’s glory? Moses met with God face to face with a tremendously bold request: “Show me your glory” (Exodus 33:18). Bless me with every spiritual blessing through Christ, and help me to never let you go. I thank you that I can boldly come before your throne of grace and ask for your blessing upon my life.Įven in the midst of pain and struggles, you do not abandon me. You blessed Jacob even as he wrestled with you through the trials in his life. You are a God who bountifully blesses your people. In times of difficulty, give me the perseverance and strength the never give up. Prayer: Lord, I thank you that you are a God who hears my prayer. If we are wrestling through a difficult season, we can boldly ask for his divine providence, protection, and blessing over our lives. We at times have had our own inward struggles with God. Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.”īut Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” Genesis 32:26 “Lord, Bless me.”Ĭan you imagine stumbling in the night as Jacob did, wrestling with God? He wrestled with the angel of the Lord until daybreak, and as dawn approached, he would not let the Lord go until he blessed him. Here are seven examples from Scripture of bold prayers we can pray with confidence. Like a little child jumping onto her father’s lap, we as his daughters can come to him with joy! We can boldly approach his throne of grace with confidence. We don’t have to approach God timidly when we come to him in prayer. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. If we understand that our Lord intimately knows everything about us, why do we sometimes hold back in our prayers? I used to think that I shouldn’t “bother” God with the seemingly insignificant prayers or concerns that I had.īut if the eternal God of the universe knows every hair on our heads, he wants to hear every prayer in our hearts. Have you ever wondered sometimes if God really hears your prayers? We cognitively know that he perceives our thoughts and the deepest desires of our hearts even before we utter a single word (Psalm 139:4).
